Education? Bah! Who needs that?

Education and infrastructure are the two things that, i believe, will save this country. If we don't invest in our kids, how do we expect them to compete in the future?

The Department of Education (DepEd) has a new program where overcrowded elementary schools' kids will be divided into two sessions. This will further utilize classrooms by extending their hours of operations. Sounds great, doesn't it?

The truth behind the matter is that kids will now be attending school for 4.5 hours a day, instead of the traditional 8 hours our parents attended. The Arroyo administration looks at double-shifting as a solution to our nations congestion problem. She does this to manipulate the figures so she can appear to move our country forward. What a dumb, manipulative bitch!

Mark my words. If we don't fix this problem by heavily investing in our education system, we will become a nation of maids and drivers (....or are we already)? OFWs are our biggest resource. Sure its beneficial because of the remittances, but isn't anyone else the slightest bit embarassed? Can we please stop raising second class citizens? When will we stand on par with the developed world, or really any country not Africa? Personally, I am afraid the answers are no, no and never.

(note: i could write about how we can credit the archaic and backwards thinking of the Catholic Church for our country's obvious population problem, but i'll save that for another time...wait...must express discontent.....damn you Archbishop Lagdameo et al, you and your silly boys clubs need to jump in a volcano! Ok, i feel better now).

Mrs. Villar - PLEASE STFU!

In a recent article on spot.ph, Representative Cynthia Villar is said to have proposed yet another national holiday, "Thank You Day". Can I propose "Hey Villar, Fuck Off Day"? The last thing our country needs is another holiday. We have way too may days off already (see for yourself), and this doesn't include the random holidays our government so easily dishes out. I find it disgusting that our politicians do this to gain political support.

Most of the developed asian economies advanced into the 1st world by adding more hours to the work week. We should do the same, not the opposite. Maybe we can reward ourselves with a Thank You Day once we actually have something to be thankful for. For now, we should collectively curse our government for burderning local businesses with unneeded days off. There is no room for slack here people. We need to get our sh*t together and work harder, much harder.

The World Bank recently came out with a poll focusing on the easiest places to do business in the world - Singapore ranked #1, Malaysia ranked #23 and the Philippines ranked...#144! Villar's idiotic proposal is reason number 2,033,423,987 why the Philippines will be left behind. Our leaders need to act more responsibly, and not like a bunch of power hungry animals that they are.

This just in: Pacquiao is an asshole

A few days ago Chavit Singson - the premier gambling warlord of the Philippines - beat his girlfriend (and the mother of five of his children) with a whip.  He stormed into her apartment and pummeled her.  What a guy (or should I say what a fuck?).  Apparently, his girlfriend had been seeing other guys.  Meanwhile Manny Pacquiao - the premier Filipino idol - gave his support to his good friend and cohort. What was Manny thinking?

As we all know, Pacquiao is running for Congress.  He needs to curb his corrupt political ambitions and stick to what he's good at, to what we are proud of.  Corrupt politicians are already pathetic but he has just cemeted his reputation in my eyes.

What kind of pathetic piece of shit supports a corrupt, wife beating politician?  I don't care if they are friends.  I don't care if, in Singon's eyes, she 'deserved it'.  There is absolutely no excuse to physically abuse women.

It's a sad day for this blogger.  The one revered public figure I had goes down in flames.  What an asshole.

One of the things that bothers me the most about this country is the blind faith people have. Rarely do you find someone who can think critically and assess things on their own.  The celebration of Cory Aquino's death is a perfect example.

While I don't discount the fact that she helped overturn a corrupt and oppressive regime, I do think she was one of the worst Filipino presidents in History.  Read about her.  It's true. Im tired of seeing those yellow ribbons everywhere.  People, wake up.  Pick up a book and read it.  Look at the statistics.  Cory Aquino, a self-proclaimed housewife, had no business running this country.

Yes, thank you Cory for putting an end to Marcos.  Thank you for being the martyr you once were and giving up your life to end that regime.  But at the end of the day (and i guess during too) you were a terrible president.  Let's hope your son is nothing like you.  Let's hope the people of this country will finally get off their lazy asses and do their due diligence.  It's fine to hope but all I am saying is let's do so with our eyes open.

An introduction to my blog on the Philippines

It's very hard living in this country.  I see something irritating almost everyday and this blog is going to help me cope.  Like it or not, the truths will be revealed!

Of course, like presumably every other citizen, I also love this country.  Through all the pollution and beneath all the grime you can find the true nature of the Pinoy: comedic, sensitive and caring.  It's true!  Yes we constantly honk, curse and ignore the rules of the civilized world but all this stems from the decades long frustration we share with our country's progress.  Our system has weighed down our virginal character and given us a whole new personification: naive, short-sighted and western loving.  What a shame.

So read on if you dare.  I hold nothing back.  Get ready to face the truth in its ugliest form. Prepare to stare at yourself in the mirror and realize 'yes, you are one of us'.  We come from the same animal you see.  I don't care if you appear mestizo, igorot or something in between by feverishly rubbing skin whitening cream on yourself.  Ikaw Ang Pinoy.
